Born in Ireland in 1971, John Boyne is the author of seven novels, including the latest title, The House of Special Purpose (2009). His 2006 international bestseller, The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas, is a heart-wrenching World War II tale. Voted the Penguin Orange Readers’ Group Book of the Year in 2009, it sold more than 5 million copies worldwide and was made into a Miramax feature film. John is the recipient of many international literary awards and his works have been translated into over 40 languages.
Who would you like to snuggle under covers with, and why?
"I’d snuggle under the covers with Emily Bronte! As a teenager my first introduction to a great love affair wasn’t a personal experience but in the pages of Wuthering Heights. Although I’d like to think that I am a much nicer person than Heathcliff."
