Bio
Ronny Someck has published 10 volumes of poetry, including the most recent Algeria, and a children’s book with his daughter Shirly (The Laughter Button). His poems have been translated into 39 languages, ranging from Arabic, French, Italian, Croatian, Nepali to English. He is the recipient of many awards, which include the Prime Minister's Award, the Yehuda Amichai Award for Hebrew poetry and the Hans Berghhuis prize for poetry in the Maastricht International Poetry Nights. He currently teaches literature and leads creative writing workshops.


What book would you like to snuggle under covers with, and why?
"Erri De Luca in his beautiful novel Montedidio wrote about Napoli but I feel that we share the same secrets also in Tel-Aviv, the secrets of the power of love that can heal every wound.
It's as though I live in transit station. On the memory shelves are candies arranged from various cultures, but all of them are wrapped up in local tissue paper."
