Bio
Courttia has published a number of novels including the critically-acclaimed The Scholar (1997) and Society Within (1999). He has also published a novella, The Dying Wish (2006). He is British Council UK Writer-in-Residence (2005 and 2007). His career has also encompassed performance readings worldwide, short-story writing and playwriting. The experienced creative writing tutor has also conducted workshops in colleges and prisons. In 2001, Courttia and Nii Parkes formed Tell Tales, a platform for public engagement though interactive storytelling, combining music and short stories. Currently, Courttia’s production company Cofe is producing a film adaptation of The Scholar.
