Bio
Born and educated in London, Meira is an Indian-Swiss author of eight novels, including The Gossamer Fly (1979), The Painted Cage (1986), A Far Horizon (2001) and her latest, A Different Sky. In 1990, House of the Sun (1989) was adapted for the stage in London where it had a successful run. She is an associate member of the National University of Singapore’s Centre For the Arts and has been Chairperson for the Commonwealth Writers Prize for the region of Southeast Asia and South Pacific. Living in Singapore since 1997, she is involved in several programmes to mentor young writers in the country.


What book would you like to snuggle under covers with, and why?
"I am soon hoping to get UnderCovers with The Secret History of the World by Jonathan Black.  This history of human consciousness promises a view of the world previously hidden, and as I find anything to do with the labyrinth of human thought seductive, I am looking forward to its revelations."
