Apocalyptic and dystopian narratives often depict reimagined worlds with inhospitable environments. When Mother Nature is no longer a nurturing force, but rather an antagonistic space where the quality of human life drastically falls, how do we rethink our relationship with nature? Against the possibilty of a “villainous” nature and the very real dangers of climate change, how do we continue to move towards a peaceful coexistence?

This programme is co-presented with Sing Lit Station.

Poorva Maithani is a graduating student at ACS (Independent) (her IB papers are unfortunately, pretty soon). When she’s not reading contemporary literature, she’s typing one-liners into her notes app so she can turn them into poems in the shower. Any other time, you can find her playing tennis, talking about the environment, or scathingly reviewing the latest looks put out by a luxury fashion house (confusing, we know). SWF 2023 is the perfect opportunity for her interests to intersect, and she’s just atrociously excited to moderate.
