This is an SWF one-time exclusive. Turn up the beat and bust the rhymes. We’re celebrating five decades of hip hop. From the OGs in the Bronx, golden era legends like Dre and Tupac, to the trap bangers of the 2010s, we ask five writers to respond to their favourite hip hop song from each decade and step up to drop it like it’s hot spitting surefire reads and vibing with a live DJ on decks. Stay on through the evening with hip hop tunes on the festival lawn.

This programme is part of the Spotlight on Asian-American Authors and is made possible with the support of the U.S. Embassy Singapore.
