Writers / Presenters
Nuraliah Norasid is a writer, educator and a PhD graduate in English Literature and Creative Writing from Nanyang Technological University (NTU). Her thesis highlighted issues such as marginality, isolation and socio-historical traumas, and eventually resulted in The Gatekeeper, the novel which won the Epigram Books Fiction Prize in 2016. Her fiction and non-fiction works have been published in several magazines and collections, including QLRS, Mynah Magazine, Budi Kritik, and most recently Singa Pura-Pura: Malay Speculative Fiction from Singapore.
Born and bred in Singapore, Yihan Sim’s debut novel Fear of the Guest was published in 2020. She graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Philosophy in 2015. Her research interests include ancient Greek philosophy, classical Chinese philosophy, and Zen Buddhist philosophy. Persephone’s Choice (2021) is her second novel.
Nessa Anwar is a writer, producer and director for theatre and video. A journalist by day, she has written two full-length plays, Riders Know When It’s Gonna Rain and Rumah Dayak. She is a founding member of playwright collective Main Tulis Group and co-founder of theatre collective Rupa co.lab.
