What does it mean to be promiscuous with form? What surprises arise when poetry deviates from the norm and encounters the documentary, the body, and the familiar made strange? These poets have been reinventing what poetry can look and sound like across multiple forms of expression and beyond the conventions of language. They share the liberating ways with which they play with words, and how their experiments speak to the communities they write for.

This programme is co-presented with Ethos Books and is made possible with the support of the Embassy of Sweden. It includes a live Q&A towards the end of the session.

Shubigi Rao’s interests include libraries, archival systems, histories and lies, literature and violence, ecologies, and natural history. Her art, texts, films, and photographs look at current and historical flashpoints as perspectival shifts to examining contemporary crises of displacement, whether of people, languages, cultures, or knowledge bodies.
